Tyson Fury is caught in the crossfire of his stepbrother’s next fight.
While it’s Tommy Fury – a reality TV star with a 7-0 boxing record – who is set to fight Jake Paul (4-0, 3 KOs) on December 18 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida, on Showtime pay- on-sight, Tyson couldn’t avoid having some pointed verbal exchanges with Paul at Wednesday’s press conference after Father John Fury also found himself trading insults with the popular YouTuber turned professional boxer.
Tyson, the reigning WBC heavyweight champion, wondered aloud why Paul had something to say about him and responded by saying he could take out both Jake and his brother Logan.
“I was brought in to be mistreated, wasn’t it? Tyson joked. “Holy shit, I didn’t do anything. I’ve been made to be abused by fucking p * ssies.
“Look, I’m going to take the back of my hand for him and his brother and his whole family and his blowjob trainer as well, BJ Flores. ‘Blowjob Flores.’ They aren’t fighters, and when Tommy sends him next week and then his brother next week, you’ll find out.
The three Fury’s were on stage at their home in Morecambe, England, while Paul was streamed to the screen via a web video call. Technical difficulties limited the conversation, which at times escalated into unintelligible screams, but all parties involved at least tried to sell the fight.
Tyson admitted he was disappointed with what he saw on Paul’s promotional front, who recently titled boxing cards against former MMA champions Tyron Woodely and Ben Askren.
“He really didn’t do anything,” Tyson said. “I’m waiting for this master of sales to do something.”
“Just two months ago you were like, ‘Jake looks fresh, we love what he’s doing. Me and John or whatever his name is, love what he does, ”Paul replied. “So make up your own mind”.
“It was three months ago,” Tyson said. “Now I think you’re a wanker. “
Tyson and Paul also bumped into their fight bags, with Paul claiming he made more money this year in boxing than Tyson despite Tyson headlining a top-tier rematch. against Deontay Wilder in October. The claim was quickly dismissed by Tyson, who simply said, “I very much doubt it.” Neither man released an actual number.
Summing up the fight between Tommy and Paul, Tyson kept it simple.
“These two young guys are going to go out there and put it all on the line and someone is going to get beaten up,” Tyson said. “Someone is going to go to 0 and that’s the way boxing works.”
