Morning Report: Tyron Woodley rips Colby Covington if he tries to press charges against Jorge Masvidal

There are two sides to every story and the juiciest drama currently taking the MMA world by storm revolves around the same storyline we thought concluded earlier this month.

Late last Monday night, reports surfaced that there had been an incident outside a Miami, Florida steakhouse between top UFC welterweight stars Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal. As a result, Covington reportedly suffered a broken tooth as well as a damaged watch and wrist abrasions.

The former teammates and best friends-turned-enemies had 25 minutes to settle their differences in the main event of UFC 272, but that clearly wasn’t enough. Covington defeated Masvidal by unanimous decision and now “Gamebred” could face felony battery charges.

Familiar with the pair as brief American Top Team teammates, Tyron Woodley stepped in Tuesday night to plant his flag.

“Colby Covington a hoe for trying to press charges against my dog,” Woodley said while golfing during an Instagram Live stream. “The fight is a fight, you just fought it in the cage and you still haven’t settled it by then, shit. I’ll have to go back, maybe it’ll be free this time.

Woodley also happens to be a former Covington opponent as the two settled their differences in a non-title affair in September 2020 after years of back and forth. Woodley’s fate was similar to Masvidal’s as Covington was in firm control of the entire fight until a fifth-round rib injury handed Covington the victory via TKO.

Since then Woodley was submissive by Vicente Luque before leaving the UFC and losing back to back boxing matches to Jake Paul.

Perhaps a career in golf will be next to check off “The Chosen One”‘s to-do list.
