MANILA, Philippines – Filipino mixed martial arts star Rolando “The Incredible” Dy is in a fighting mood, just a month away from war against Kyrgyz lightweight candidate Abdisalam “Omok” Kubanychbek in Bahrain.

Seeking to redeem himself and return to the winning column, Dy, 29, called Egyptian murderer Ahmed “The Butcher” Amir, promising to give him “a real fight“.

Dy, the son of Filipino boxer Rolando Navarrete, first took to social media to call Amir, but was brushed aside by the Egyptian fighter. The Filipino star doubles down, however, making it known he’s serious about his challenge.

“I called Amir on social media because he acts like a clown,” he said.

“In my opinion, he doesn’t deserve the title, but it was given to him. I respect that, but the point is, he’s backed down in his title fight. Then he showed up to the event, acting tough. and acting like the champion, ”he explained.

“I lost my respect for him that night, and I want to test if he’s really tough like he said. I’m here. I can give you a real fight,” Dy said.

Amir was supposed to face Amin Ayoub for the BRAVE CF Lightweight World Championship in the recently concluded BRAVE CF 50. However, a shoulder and neck injury forced him to withdraw from the five-round title game.

As a result, Mashrabjon Ruziboev took his place and faced Ayoub in an untitled 74 kilogram catch weight contest, where the French champion came out triumphant via a clear unanimous decision.

Ayoub’s celebration was cut short, however, as Amir made a surprise appearance at the edge of the cage, walking past security to engage in a heated verbal exchange with the Frenchman.

Dy is no stranger to trashy talk but he questions the legitimacy of Amir’s injury that forced him to withdraw from his title clash with Ayoub.

“He (Amir) was booked to fight for the title, but he chose to step back a week before the fight. I don’t like it. If he believes he’s strong and isn’t pretending, prove- the me, ”Dy said.

Fighting Amir might put him at a stylistic disadvantage, but “The Incredible” doesn’t seem upset by the Egyptian’s wrestling credentials.

“I lost to a wrestler in my last fight. Amir is also a wrestler. It’s a good match for him,” he admitted. “I just want to fight Amir. He’s not allowed to act like a VIP. He always chooses his opponents. Well, he should choose me.”

Dy also expressed his desire to be part of BRAVE CF 51, the promotion’s debut in Minsk, Belarus on June 4. He hopes he will come face to face with Amir on this map.

“I don’t back down, I don’t make excuses and I introduce myself. He had the chance to fight for the title, but he didn’t show up. He had many reasons. I’m built differently. As long as I can do the walkout, I will fight, ”Dy said.
