MANILA, Philippines – Even though he’s careful not to overtake his next opponent, Lito Adiwang is already aiming for some important fights ahead.

Adiwang will face China’s Hexigetu at ONE: Revolution, which will be broadcast live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, September 24.

If he were to beat Hexigetu, Adiwang already knows who he wants next: former UFC star player Jarred Brooks and reigning Muay Thai flyweight ONE world champion Rodtang “Iron Man” Jitmuangnon.

Adiwang and Brooks were expected to stick together earlier this year, before the Filipino tested positive for COVID-19, which forced the much-anticipated fight to be canceled. Before that, the two traded beards on social media, and general interest in the fight was growing rapidly.

Team star Lakay has no doubts that he will meet Brooks in the ONE circle sooner or later.

“I was a little disappointed that the fight failed. I was really looking forward to fighting it. We had some good jokes through the media, and the fans were really excited for this one. But I’m sure we did. we will see each other again in the future, ”Adiwang said.

“We are both reaching the top, and I have no doubt that our paths will cross sooner or later. I pray that we can meet in the near future and settle the matter within the Circle,” he said. added.

Garbage aside, Adiwang has acknowledged that Brooks will likely be one of his toughest enemies to date, and he’s determined to go up against the American if he gets the chance.

“Honestly, I think he’s a very strong opponent. I know he was very confident that he could beat me. But I was also very confident that I could beat him. It goes both ways. Nonetheless, I knew. that I was the underdog in this fight I couldn’t prove that I was better than him by fighting him in the cage, ”Adiwang said.

“I prepared myself really well for this fight. We studied it, discovered its strengths and its weaknesses, and we identified a few areas where I could dominate it,” he revealed. “I think his game plan would have been to take me down and try to control myself to get that bid. But I had a few surprise bids myself that I wanted to make.”

As for Rodtang, Adiwang has long wished for a Muay Thai showdown with the superstar known as “Iron Man”. The interest is mutual, as Rodtang also called for a fight against the “Thunder Kid”.

“This fight is always on my radar. I would never call anyone without intending to go through with it. I said that because I wanted this fight to happen,” Adiwang said. “I think it’s a great fight and our styles would make for an interesting game.”

Yet Adiwang wants people to know that he is “focused only on Hexigetu”.

“He’s the one in front of me, and I can’t look past him. Of course, in the future, it’s a fight I would like to continue. It would be an honor to test myself against Rodtang. , one of the fiercest strikers in the world, “he added.

ONE: Revolution features three world title fights, including Joshua Pacio’s defense of his ONE strawweight title against former champion Yosuke Saruta in what will be the rivals’ third meeting.
