MICHAEL CHANDLER criticized Justin Gaethje’s suggestion that he received preferential treatment from the UFC – insisting that his rival received a lot of “Dana White privileges.”
The Light Titans will collide early Sunday morning on a stacked UFC 268 card at Madison Square Garden.
Gaethje walks into the 155-pound barn burner with a grind ax after Chandler’s ill-fated light gold crack in May.
The Highlight believes Chandler received special treatment from the UFC brass, a notion Iron has flatly rejected.
He told MMA Fighting: “Justin Gaethje got the same preferential treatment.
“The same amount of Dana White privilege. It doesn’t matter what you want to call it.
“He came from outside the UFC, walked in, got a top five guy right away. If he had beaten Eddie Alvarez, he would have gotten a title shot.
“He lost to Eddie Alvarez which meant he had to fight a few more fights.

“He’s been in big commercials. He’s been in big fights. He’s headlining. He and I have had very similar routes.
“I think he deserved it because he deserved it.
“He probably thinks, deep in his heart, that I deserved it and earned it, but he has to convince himself that I am looking for attention, or that I am looking for attention and that I am a fake. and a fake Whatever things he said.
“More than anything, a guy who doesn’t deserve the treatment I have received so far – but you will find that the older you get the more you do things, those who ask and those who say yes to opportunities, usually end. by going beyond those who don’t or those who are fighting the powers that be. I’m not here to fight the powers that be.
“I’m here to fight the guys they’ve pitted me against and Justin Gaethje is next. That he loves me, that he hates me, I know he respects me.”
Gatheje vs. Chandler has been called “People’s Main Event” because of their fan-friendly styles.
And former 155lb Bellator three-time champion Chandler is confident fans won’t be disappointed with their long-awaited clash.
He said of the game: “I think we’re both so similar.
“We both throw powerful punches. We both bite our mouthpieces.
“We are not afraid to fight fire with fire and be in fire. Either of us could be knocked out.
“The only thing we can guarantee – there will be violence. It will be exciting.
“Everyone at Madison Square Garden will be the beneficiary and everyone who buys the pay-per-view will be the beneficiary and we both get bonuses.
Gaethje, 32, relishes the chance to catapult himself back into the title race with a decisive victory over Chandler.
He told ESPN: “I’m going to go out there and try to break this guy down as fast as I can, as hard as I can.
“‘Most Violent Man’ and all that bullshit it doesn’t matter, I’m 22-3 with 19 KOs, which one of these [other] guys can say that, which of these guys can say they got nine bonuses in their first seven fights, none of them.
“The common denominator will be me every time. It’s my way of fighting, that’s why they pay me so much money.”
