Lito Adiwang aims for more ambitious goals

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, September 20) – Lakay team fighter Lito Adiwang is aiming for more ambitious goals when he returns to the ONE Championship circle.

The 28-year-old fighter from Baguio City has signaled his intention to fight former UFC Champion Jarred Brooks and reigning ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the future.

Adiwang and Brooks were scheduled to lock the horns earlier this year, but the Filipino tested positive for COVID-19, which forced the highly anticipated fight to be canceled. The two men also traded beards on social media.

“Honestly, I think he’s a very strong opponent. I know he was very confident that he could beat me. But I was also very confident that I could beat him. It goes both ways. Nonetheless, I knew. that I was the underdog in this fight I couldn’t prove that I was better than him by fighting him in the cage, ”Adiwang said.

As for Rodtang, Adiwang has long been calling for a Muay Thai showdown with the Thai superstar.

“I would never call anyone without intending to go through with it. I said that because I wanted this fight to happen,” Adiwang said. “I think it’s a great fight and our styles would make for an interesting game.”

But before Adiwang gets his wish, he must beat Chinese fighter Hexigetu at ONE: REVOLUTION on September 24 at Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Adiwang is one of three Filipinos featured in the upcoming ONE Championship event alongside featherweight bet Roel Rosauro and Team Lakay teammate Joshua Pacio, who will defend his ONE Strawweight belt against former defending champion Yosuke Saruta in a highly anticipated trilogy match.
