Karate Combat ink Gabriel Varga, former Bellator and GLORY world champion

Karate Combat recently announced an exclusive promotional deal with former Bellator and GLORY World Champion Gabriel Varga. The fourth-degree Shotokan black belt is set to debut in Season 4 in early 2022 against an opponent to be named.

“If you are a combat fan, you know who Gabriel Varga is,” said Adam Kovacs, president of Karate Combat. “The world titles he has held speak for themselves: he is one of the most elite strikers on the planet. It is a pleasure to welcome him home for karate and I am delighted to see a world class fighter enter “The Pit”.

Fourth dan black belt and Russian Federation “Master of Sport” Dastonbek Otabolaev also join the lightweight list., who won a gold medal at the 2021 World Karate Championships earlier this year in Dubai.

“Winning the World Karate Championships is like winning the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Championships or the Judo World Championships. It’s a huge achievement, especially since he’s the first fighter from Central Asia to accomplish this, ”Kovacs said. “Uzbekistan is right across the Caspian Sea from Dagestan.
