Justin Gaethje is’ not the smartest and has a ‘tough night’ at UFC 268

Al Iaquinta believes Justin Gaethje should spend less time tagging fighters on Twitter before being tagged by Michael Chandler at UFC 268.

Gaethje vs. Chandler takes place on the Pay-Per-View (PPV) Main Card of UFC 268, which takes place inside Madison Square Garden in New York, NY, this coming weekend (Saturday, November 6, 2021). Iaquinta is fighting Bobby Green on the “Prelims” undercard which will air on ESPN +.

“Raging” lifts the curtain on his recent Twitter row with Gaethje ahead of Saturday’s card.

“I don’t know what his contract is,” Iaquinta told MMAMania.com. “We were supposed to fight years ago. They [UFC] wanted me to fight Justin Gaethje for about $ 40,000. It could even be high. It was like 40 [to show] and 40 [to win]. I was like, ‘I’m going to need more money.’ I gave them a reasonable number to fight Justin Gaethje. Absolutely reasonable. It never ended up happening. I sent a message to Justin Gaethje in his [direct messages] on Twitter. I said, ‘Dude, don’t expect another fight. You said you were going to fight me, we are going to fight. If you expect another fight, it’s fucked up. Indeed the next day. He told me ‘handle your own shit’ and he agreed to a fight with James Vick.

“He’s not the smartest. Great fighter, but not the smartest guy. Twitter is definitely not his thing. He asks me if I have a better manager. I have the best handling of the game. I don’t know what his problem is. He probably had a bad workout. He’s fighting Michael Chandler, ”he continued. “He’s got a lot ahead of him. He should be worried about himself. I don’t know why he’s commenting on your tweets about me. He’s going to have a tough night. I get the feeling he’s having a rough night and is going to wish he hadn’t opened his mouth on Twitter all over the place.

Iaquinta (14-6-1) has not competed since an October 2019 unanimous decision loss to Dan Hooker in Melbourne, Australia. Iaquinta returned his octagon two years later to his country of origin.

“It sounds normal, I guess,” said Iaquinta. “I haven’t been feeling well for the past two years. I’m trying to get healthy, COVID. The last couple of years have been weird and crazy and just not good for me in many ways. But, in many ways, it will be good in the end. Everything led to this, ”he shares. “Things turned out at the right time and Madison Square Garden has been announced. Bobby Green had, I thought he won that fight, a barn burner of a last fight. They offered me the fight. Everything aligned. This is where I want to be right now.

UFC 268 is featured by Kamaru Usman’s bad-blooded UFC welterweight rematch against Colby Covington 2.
