Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar goes MMA mode in WWE fight

Although in combat sports, the UFC and WWE are poles apart in most aspects. Every punch, every kick, the audience, the comments, the promotion, everything. With the athletes of these two promotions knowing their jobs exclusively, it sometimes seems like things are going wrong. And once, Brock Lesnar seemed to have switched modes during a fight in WWE.

Brock Lesnar, one of WWE’s most influential babyfaces, was also a UFC champion. As a UFC heavyweight champion, he was also a WWE champion at some point in his career, making him one of the most prolific wrestlers.

With very different fighting styles in terms of technique and authenticity, Lesnar seemed to have let loose and landed a power punch against his WWE opponent Braun Strowman.

During the fight, Brock Lesnar suffered a hard knee to the head from Strowman, and in turn, the former UFC champion landed a hard right to Strowman’s temple.

The difference between WWE and UFC

Any fight fan will agree that the WWE and UFC are worlds apart when it comes to authenticity for fights. WWE follows an entertainment-based fighting model, while UFC follows a more authentic and realistic fighting standard.

This is one of the reasons why it’s surprising to see Lesnar go into MMA mode when fighting in WWE. The punch Lesnar landed on Strowman’s temple was hard, but not to the point of being knocked out.

WWE athletes also get injured a lot. However, WWE is filled with intrigue and gimmicks, while UFC is more focused on the fight game and sometimes real, personal stories between opponents.
