The British teenager had to work hard on her Roland Garros debut against 17-year-old Linda Noskova before finally getting the job done with a 6-7 7-5 6-1 win.
It would have been a relief for Raducanu to get through a Test match without any injury concerns and the 12th seed is certainly enjoying life in Paris, comparing it to his incredible run to the title at Flushing Meadows last summer.
“The French Open gives me similar vibes to the US Open, just because of the crowds and their involvement,” Raducanu said.
“It’s a complete contrast to Wimbledon, where everything is silent. You can actually hear a pin drop before serving, it’s amazing.
Attention now turns to Sasnovich, who lost just five games in his first-round win over Wang Xinyu. The world number 47 has already equaled her best run at Roland Garros, never having reached the third round in six main draw attempts.
