Elias is a UFC veteran and the very first Canadian winner of the tournament / reality show The Ultimate Fighter. He is also dedicated to “Fighting the stigma” of medical cannabis in sport.

Theodorou is the first professional MMA athlete and fighter in the world to receive a Therapeutic Use Exemption (TUE) for medical cannabis in competition, which was granted in February by the British Columbia Athletic Commission, and subsequently of that granted in Colorado, United States. This historic decision sets a precedent not only for Elias, but also for all other MMA athletes and boxers who can now apply for the same TUE when medically appropriate. Elias will be looking to make professional sports history in his next fight, by Denver, Colorado as the first North American sanctioned cannabis athlete.
