Conor McGregor Praised After Huge Donation Helps Dublin Twins Achieve Their MMA Dreams

Conor McGregor has been praised after helping two young brothers achieve their MMA dreams.

Twins Adam and Dylan Duffy, from Ballycanew in County Wexford, have succeeded in their bid to earn a coveted spot on the Irish squad heading to Abu Dhabi for the upcoming MMA Youth International.

However, traveling to the contest proved to be quite expensive, so the youngsters launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise around €6,000 to fund the trip.

The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) is a global sports organization dedicated to the development of mixed martial arts as an international sport, from recreational to elite level.

Conor McGregor attends the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards at Barclays Center on September 12, 2021 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.

Its world youth championships see kids aged 12 to 17 compete under a modified set of rules that prohibits head shots and serves as an entry point for those wishing to pursue a career in MMA.

Fortunately, McGregor noticed the boy’s campaign online and donated generously to their cause by donating €10,000 to the brothers, which was a dream come true, reports the Independent.

“Done! I know the earth is proud,” McGregor wrote online after making the donation.

Thanking McGregor for his donation, Adam Duffy said. “I was in training when I found out, and my coach told me about it so calmly. I was going crazy! I thought he was joking until he showed me the comments. I feel like I have to win now because he donated all that money.”

While Dylan said the donation was “very relieving”.

He said: “We might not have been able to do without his help.

“There are so many gyms out there, and he donated to us, which is crazy!”

The couple had even joked about McGregor supporting the fundraiser, but never thought it would become a reality.

Their mother, Liz, tagged him in several posts about the boys on social media in hopes he might see and share it to raise awareness for the fundraiser.

However, she was shocked after hearing the news.

The Duffys will continue to fundraise for the event, with additional funds earmarked for new equipment for their gym and other children hoping to attend the event in Abu Dhabi.
