Jair Perez and Landry Ward are two promising 145-pound youngsters and they earned the right to headline the Combate Global card on April 15 after winning their last two fights with the promotion. Both fighters picked up decision wins on the July 16 card last summer, then Perez (6-2) picked up another decision win on October 1, while Ward (5-0) returned to the Oct. 15 card to pick up a victory by decision of his own. Now, the two featherweights in their mid-20s will be the main event at La Jaula on Friday night. You can stream the action live on Paramount+.
The five-fight card will also feature undefeated prospects Ivan Tena and Andrea Meneses. Tena will face Gerlado Almonte in a featherweight bout while Meneses will take on Stephanie Irurzo at 115 pounds. The Combate Global fight card begins at 10:30 p.m. ET, and you can catch all the action live on Paramount+.

Combate Global’s top picks for the April 15 fight card
Before you tune in to Friday’s Combate Global fight card, you need to see the picks from SportsLine MMA insider Andrew Gombas. With over 1,400 caps tracked by third-party monitoring service Bet MMA, it has shown a 6% return on investment for its subscribers. Over the past two years, his followers have made a profit of over $10,000.
For Friday’s Combate Global fight card, Gombas picks Ivan Tena to win his featherweight bout against Geraldo Almonte. Tena just turned 23 on April 1 and he’s only had three professional fights, but he’s proven himself to be a dynamic young fighter with three first-round stoppages.
He debuted at a Combate event in 2019 and won in the first round via floor and pound against Dominic Tim, but then went almost two years without a fight due to the pandemic. However, Tena came back in March of last year to knock out Ricardo Canales in just 10 seconds and then returned to fight in Combate Global in October, choking out Timothy Cuambas.
Now he will face Almonte, a 28-year-old Dominican fighter who is 3-3 in his professional career. Almonte lost his Combate Global debut via first-round submission last April and has already been submitted twice in his career. Gombas considers Tena to be one of Combate’s top prospects and sees this as the perfect step up in the competition.
