Cody Garbrandt vs. Rob Font: UFC Fight Night Date, Fight Time, TV Channel & Live Stream

The last UFC event in May takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas on Saturday when former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt takes on Rob Font.

Garbrandt returns to the Octagon for the first time in over 11 months. After a one-punch knockout from Raphael Assuncao at UFC 250, Garbrandt had to fall to flyweight and challenge champion Deiveson Figueiredo at UFC 255. Then Garbrandt’s health entered a downward spiral.

Garbrandt contracted COVID, had three blood clots in his right arm caused by a ruptured vein and a severe case of dizziness. The situation left Garbrandt with no choice but to withdraw from the fight. The Ohio native believes a win over Font puts him in a privileged position to secure another flyweight title shot against rematch winner Figueiredo-Brandon Moreno at UFC 263.

“I think so,” Garbrandt told DAZN News earlier in the week. “It’s something that I do and do. If I get two big knockout wins over guys who are in the top five in the division on top of that, and I’m a former world champion who paid his dues to the UFC. I was given the chance for the title. I think I bring a lot of looks to the flyweight division. It’s so Figgy overtakes him. I want to fight Figgy. I think that Figgy is going to win. I’m excited for this fight. First and foremost, I’m focused on Rob, and I have to go out there and do what I’m doing. I’m just excited to fight. Can’t wait to get my hands on this guy and hurt him and get him out. “

Font is 8-3 in the UFC and has won four of his last five to move up to No. 3 in the bantamweight division. He last fought in December, bringing former 135-pound title challenger Marlon Moraes in under four minutes.

The winner can plead against the champion Aljamain Sterling on his return from injury.
