Boxing and MMA at SM Southmall
UFC Gym, in partnership with SM Supermalls and SM Game Park, will showcase the country’s up-and-coming fighters at Musclecontest Philippines’ ‘King of the Fight 9’, an exhibition match to be held at SM Southmall Events Center from 6-7pm. June.
Exhibition matches on both days begin at 1 p.m., with 24 boxers set to face off on June 18, Saturday; and 24 mixed martial artists to enter the Octagon on June 19, Sunday. Each fight will consist of three-minute rounds.

OCP has a medical mission
Operation Compassion Philippines (OCP) traveled to Baras, Catanduanes for a medical mission in partnership with GCF-Mercy Ministry, Philippine National Police, Ando Cua Foundation, Baras LGU and BLGU-Puraran.
The medical mission focused on providing free medical and dental consultations to residents of Puraran, Genitligan, Venticayan, Agban, San Miguel, Paniquihan and JM Alberto barangays. A total of 573 residents benefited from the medical services provided by the doctors, while 190 residents received free dental treatment during the two-day mission which took place from June 2 to 3.
Former DPWH chief is new MAP president
Rogelio Singson is the new president of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP), the 74e since the group was founded in 1950.
Singson will complete the remaining term (July 1 to December 31, 2022) of Dr. Alfredo Pascual who has been appointed Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Mr. Singson is President and CEO of Metro Pacific Water (MPW). He is also chairman of MPW’s subsidiaries, Metro Iloilo Bulk Water Supply Corp., Metro Pacific Iloilo Water and Metro Pacific Dumaguete Water Services. He is also a director of Laguna Water District Aquatech Resources Corp., Eco-System Technologies International and Manila Water Consortium.
Prior to joining MPW, he served as President and CEO of MERALCO PowerGen Corp. and Light Rail Manila Corp.
He completed a full 6-year term (2010 to 2016) as Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways.
