Biniyam Shibre’s dream is to become an MMA fighter
On the June 5 episode of 90 day fiance Season 9 is a few weeks after their big move from Ethiopia to Princeton, New Jersey. Now that Biniyam is getting a taste of American life, he wants to pursue his dream of becoming a professional MMA fighter.
Back in Ethiopia, Biniyam had made a career out of his many talents. Besides being a performer and dancer, he has also worked as a personal trainer. He also made money as a DJ and musician. The multifaceted athlete, musician and dancer is now ready to start training and getting serious about MMA fighting in hopes of becoming a UFC fighter.
Biniyam Shibre is the ‘Babycool’ MMA fighter
So how is Biniyam’s MMA fighter career going? It’s been over a year since 90 day fiance Season 9 was filmed Biniyam’s career takes off. According to stats found on Tapology, Bini wrestles as “Babycool” in the “Featherweight” weight class.
According to the site, Biniyam has won both fights he has had so far. His last fight was on August 13, 2021 in New York at the Flex Fight MMA event. Before that, his first MMA fight was for the Revolution Combat Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the featherweight division, in which he won by TKO (technical knockout).
Biniyam’s Battle Experience
As fans know, Biniyam aka Babycool fought while in Ethiopia. According to his biography, Biniyam started fighting at an early age. His biography explains: “Biniyam ‘Baby’ Shibre was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He showed early athletic ability and was encouraged by his late father to start martial arts at a young age.
He continues: “However, his athletic ability is not limited to one sport. He participated in bodybuilding competitions. He also remains active in circus training which combines acrobatics, gymnastics and performance art.
His biography reads: “He fought three times as a kickboxer in Ethiopia. He is a member of United Africa MMA, a federation that works to bring the sport to a wider audience in East Africa.
While Ariela might not be the happiest training in Biniyam for over four hours a day at a gym that takes almost an hour to get to, all the dedication pays off. Maybe Biniyam will fulfill his dream of becoming a professional MMA fighter after all. Audiences can continue to watch more of Biniyam’s journey in the ring and down the aisle in Season 9.
