14 UFC veterans added to XMMA 4 in New Orleans

More than a dozen UFC veterans have been added to the first XMMA event of 2022.

XMMA 4 is set to take place on Saturday April 2 at the Fillmore in New Orleans. Viewing information has yet to be announced.

The promotion launched in January 2021 with XMMA 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida and was headlined by Andre Fialho against James Vick. XMMA 2 took place in July 2021 with a Ben Saunders main event against Ramsey Nijem. XMMA 3 followed soon after in October, headlined by Cody Gibson against John Dodson.

Keeping the notable names headlining, XMMA features 14 fighters who have made at least one UFC appearance. Scroll below to see which UFC alumni are currently scheduled to compete.

John Dodson (21-13)

John Doson

UFC record: 10-7

XMMA Match 4: Bantamweight Main Event vs. Francisco Rivera (14-8)

Since leaving the UFC… John Dodson has competed once, a unanimous decision loss suffered by Cody Gibson at XMMA 3 in October. The fight came months after Dodson was involved in a car accident that knocked him out of a scheduled fight at XMMA 2.

Francisco Rivera (14-8)

UFC record: 4-5 with a no contest

XMMA Match 4: Bantamweight Main Event vs. John Dodson (21-13)

Since leaving the UFC… Francisco Rivera spent four years on the shelf due to a USADA violation due to testing positive and “deceptive or obstructive conduct.” He returned to XMMA 1 in January 2021 where he knocked out Ryan Lilley in the first round. Rivera competed three more times in the calendar year, going 2-1 for Combate Global.

Kyle Stewart (14-5)

UFC record: 0-2

XMMA Match 4: Welterweight vs. Zak Ottow (20-7)

Since leaving the UFC… Kyle Stewart presented mixed results. He went 3-2 with wins over Mike Jones, Tim Caron and John Poppie (whom he largely eliminated), as well as losses to Chris Curtis and Nah-shon Burrell. Stewart was attached to “The Ultimate Fighter,” season 29, but a since-resolved eye problem forced him to disregard the cast.

XMMA Match 4: Bantamweight against Louie Sanoudakis (8-3)

Since leaving the UFC… Tateki Matsuda competed intermittently. He has won more than he has lost, going 5-3 after the UFC. XMMA 4 will be his first competition since a loss in January 2020.
