Sost Infante

Nam_PhanSurrounded by his friends and fans in the dressing rooms after the fight Nam sign’s a few autographs gets dressed and starts his way to his autograph session to be held at the Soboba Casino. MMA-Fighter was able to grab a few questions with the rising star on his way to the Casino after his Doctor Stoppage win over Sost Infante.

Brad Doerges – So how did you feel knowing you had to fight someone 20lbs heavier than you?

Nam Phan - I was scared shitless… I was just hoping to hit him…

Brad – So who are you fighting at the King of the Cage in August?

Nam – I think his name is Joe Frainee. He just beat the shit out ofFrank Bollinger.

Brad – Is this a 155 fight?

Nam – Yup, I just hope he doesn’t make weight. (laughs)

Brad – So how long till you are fighting for the belt?

Nam - Hopefully there is some talk that they might want that in the near future. I feel like I have a very good team. I feel confident.

Brad – So it was an over hand right that caused the cut.

Nam – Yes it was an over hand right.

Right about now we start running into a lot of Nam fans…

Fan –Why did you have to hit him so hard?

Nam – (Laughs) I gotta get in and out against those big guys.

Brad – So take me thru the fight.

Nam – He felt very strong. He got the clinch and a pretty decent slam on me. I was working for the keylock at the end. It was a pretty decent slam and I thought god damnit I’m in trouble. Then I saw the blood and that it was coming from him and I thought that’s not my blood YES! (Wipes forehead in relief)

Brad – So did you know anything about Sost before you fought him?

Nam – I just knew he was heavier than me and that I might be in trouble.

Brad – So what kind of conditioning do you do before a fight.

Nam – I do a lot of running. A lot of boxing and wrestling and a lot of Jiu Jitsu. Just train real hard.

Shortly after this question we reached the signing area and Nam was carted off by his team and Soboba Casino security. I waited in line for 20 minutes with Nam Fans and got a signed poster from Nam. Thanks Nam for the interview
